SIMULTANEOUS DETERMINATION OF ATORVASTATIN AND ATENOLOL IN RABBIT PLASMA BY RP-HPLC METHOD AND ITS APPLICATION IN PHARMACOKINETIC STUDY

Objective: The objective of the present study is to establish a simple, sensitive, and specific RP-HPLC technique determine atorvastatin calcium (ATV) atenolol (ATL) in rabbit plasma.
 Methods: Both drugs like have been extracted by simple liquid-liquid extraction with acetonitrile.
 Results: chromatographic separation has performed on reversed-phase C18 column mobile phase phosphate buffer (pH 4.0): acetonitrile: methanol (40:40:20, v/v). techniques validated over concentration range 22.08-4778.37 ng ml-1 for ATV 18.35-3969.20 ATL plasma. acceptability was satisfied all validation criteria. These methods profitably applied pharmacokinetic bilayer tablet after an oral administration rabbit. A significant recovery drug from plasma resulted acetonitrile as extracting solvent compared other organic solvents.
 Conclusion: results obtained proved that method developed accurate reproducible, stable
